From Denver, we traveled up through Nebraska to Omaha. Our trip consisted of 9ish hours of driving. There was no snow this time but by the end of that trip we were ready to be done. That probably explains our list of thoughts on Nebraska… smelly, bad bathrooms, flat, cows, a plethora of pretty trees, same scenery over and over again, nice people except one meanie, cows, only [insert #] more miles!, weird freeway entrances and exits, and did I mention cows?
The main purpose of our drive through Nebraska was to reach a very particular destination. We were headed to the Winter Quarters Temple to do a session. When we finally arrived at the temple we still had an hour before we had to be inside, so we took a look around the visitors center. It just so happened that a certain Sister Julia Itri, a friend from high school, was there on a mission! Kyle actually knew her too, as she had lived in the same apartment complex as her at BYU. It’s a small world, isn’t it?
We really enjoyed our session at the temple. It goes without saying, but it was beautiful inside! To end the day we celebrated our arrival in Omaha with a late night Sonic run.
