12 Days of Christmas… Flat Andrew Style

My younger brother, Andrew is currently on a mission in Chile going into his first Christmas season away from home. To make that transition a little less sad, my family has been sending him “gifts” every day, for the twelve days of Christmas. By “gifts”, we mean silly photos that show our seasonal traditions, events of the day, or silly family inside jokes.

For my wedding, in April, a life size cardboard cut out of Andrew which was originally purchased. Andrew said that if he couldn’t be there, he wanted some sort of representation of him there instead. Since then, it has been sitting in a closet, so we decided that it was necessary to use it again. Elementary kids use flat Stanley, we use flat Andrew.  And so, the 12 days of Christmas, flat Andrew style, began. Enjoy!

On the first day of Christmas, flat Andrew was seen… looking for Beezerdoo.

On the second day of Christmas, flat Andrew was seen… bringing us a package from Chile.

On the third day of Christmas, flat Andrew was seen… playing ping pong, beating Camren. (You wish, says Camren.)

On the fourth day of Christmas, flat Andrew was seen… eating President Monson chocolates, yum, yum.

On the fifth day of Christmas, flat Andrew was seen… giving brotherly advice to Maris on her first date. (Davis High’s Christmas dance.)

On the sixth day of Christmas, flat Andrew was seen… having a cereal snack with Mike like old times.

On the seventh day of Christmas, flat Andrew was seen… creating houses of gingerbread and sweets.

On the eighth day of Christmas, flat Andrew was seen… getting eight slobbery kisses from Tess.

On the ninth day of Christmas, flat Andrew was seen… doing a secret act of service, and leaving the wand.

On the tenth day of Christmas, flat Andrew was seen… sleeping in till 11:30. (Yea! School’s out for Christmas break!) Camren says, “You probably shouldn’t sleep in your suit, Elder”.

On the eleventh day of Christmas, flat Andrew was seen… hanging with the cousins, at the Barfuss family party.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, real Andrew was seen… talking to his family over skype, from Chile.

(This was one of the best Christmas presents we could have asked for.)

Merry Christmas!
