Upon returning to Utah, I made a mental list of everything that I would want to do while counting down my days in my home state. Some things I knew I wouldn’t get done, but others I was determined to. On that list were things like: go to as many of my sibling’s games as possible, can applesauce with mom, make dinner for the family, eat fresh produce from the garden, cook with mom, have late night talks with dad, do a session at the Salt Lake Temple, craft with Kenzli, visit extended family, early morning runs with parents, spoil my siblings, go to the Brigham City Temple open house, etc. etc. etc. Then, of course there were some other not so fun things like packing up all our belongings from my parent’s basement into the semi. But, overall, the good outweighed the bad.
Luckily I did get around to many of the things on my list and continue to think about my amazing summer with them as I am now away from home. What a blessing it was for me to be able to have those couple weeks to just spend with the people I love most. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my limited time in Utah.
